celebración de esta fiesta. Al Eucalipto se le quita la corteza y las
ramas, y se le añade en la parte superior un ramo de sus propias hojas
adornado con hortensias y con las banderas de Asturias y de España. “La
Hoguera” es conducida entonces a la plazuela (junto a la Iglesia) donde
deberá ser plantada por los mozos sin ayuda mecánica. Mediante cuerdas,
topes y fuerza, la hoguera comienza a ser izada en un foso preparado en
la plaza al efecto. Los mozos se distribuyen entre el foso, debajo de la
hoguera, la torre de la iglesia y lso laterales, para favorecer un
correcto levantamiento del “palu”. Este proceso lleva aproximadamente
una hora y media.
