 Para muchos ovetenses la sede de la Fundación Masaveu, en la frontera 
del Parque de Invierno, les habrá pasado desapercibida, pero es uno de 
los edificios más simbólicos de la arquitectura de la segunda mitad del 
siglo XX en la capital asturiana. Su promotor ideológico fue el 
financiero Pedro Masaveu, y el arquitecto que lo diseñó, con criterios 
modernos y rompedores, fue Joaquín Cores Uría, fallecido ayer en Madrid,
 a los 83 años
La sede de la Fundación Masaveu, inaugurada en 1962, se proyecta en 
1957, apenas cuatro años después de que Joaquín Cores se titulara.
